How do I send a message in ELS?

Select the message icon in the page header to open the messaging drawer. Search for an existing conversation or, when permitted, search for a person and write a message. You can star important conversations or mute notifications for an individual conversation.

Messaging availability depends on site privacy settings and user permissions. For course-specific contact, use the method stated by the teacher. Email and web alerts for new messages can be adjusted in notification preferences.
